Touched!

In today’s Gospel Jesus’ disciples discover the value of having a God they could touch.
The disciples do not believe that Jesus has risen until he appears to them and invites them to touch the wounds in his hands and feet.
Initially the disciples fear that Jesus is going to make them pay for their cowardice.
However, Jesus overcomes their fear and assures them that he has come back not to nail them but to love them. He even eats some fish to assure them that it is he and no ghost.
It is through such bodily touch that we meet God’s love with skin on.
Jesus touches us with us love and sends us to touch the world with the same love of Jesus.
