Worship During the Season of Pentecost

Nov 12, 2023    Rev. Steve Albertin

Welcome to worship at King of Glory Worship and Ministry Center in Carmel, IN!

On this twenty-fourth Sunday after Pentecost, let us worship the one who has filled our lamps with oil, so we can be unafraid of giving our lives away generously in service of others! Let us be prepared for the coming of the Bridegroom, Jesus!

Today, we welcome Charlie Ryan Beck through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism! We also rejoice with the family of Zoey Hetrick, on the occasion of her first communion!

If you are able, we invite you to join us for communion where you are! You may use any kind of bread and either wine or grape juice, so that you may also receive the body and blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

We'll get started shortly! Feel free to chat with the community until then!

Today’s Worship Theme:

   - “BE PREPARED!”

       - Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids (Matthew 25:1-13)

           - The bridegroom has filled our lamps with oil. The light will never burn out. When we are caught off guard and the unexpected shows up at our doorstep, we do not have to worry that we will not be prepared. We are ready. Jesus has filled our lamps with oil. Even though the five wise bridesmaids did not believe it, there will always be enough. The oil that Jesus provides will never run out. Nothing can separate us from the love of God.

Today's Songs:

   - "Blessed Assurance" (ELW 638)

   - "Now the Feast and Celebration" (ELW 167)

   - "Cry Of My Heart"

   - "Jesus Be The Lord Of All"

   - "I Was There To Hear Your Borning Cry"

   - "We Are An Offering" (ELW 692)

   - "I Stand In Awe"

   - "Heaven Is In My Heart"

Today's Readings:

   - Amos 5:18-24

   - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

   - Matthew 25:1-13

Today's Message

   - "SO Be Prepared" - Rev. Steve Albertin

       - "Be Prepared" is good advice, but does not always work. "Stuff happens," life can go wrong and we are caught off-guard. However, there is another way to hear this parable. It changes everything.

Don't forget, you can give your offering online at https://kogcarmel.org/give

We invite you to join us again next week!

Go in peace and serve the Lord!
