Today's Message
- "Overheard: Pilate and His Wife, Procula" - Rev. Erik Allen, David and Liz Lichtenberger
- Do you suppose it is possible that various people who were involved in our Lord’s Passion ever had the opportunity to talk with one another about it? Perhaps even right then, while the events were happening? Can you imagine what they might have said? This year's midweek Lenten services invite us to listen in on conversations heard at the foot of the cross—conversations that forever touched and changed lives—just as our have been by the crucifixion of Jesus.
- Tonight we hear from Pontius Pilate and his wife Procula as they wrestle with the truth Pilate recognized but lacked the courage to follow, exposing how fear and self-preservation can override justice. As the shadow of the cross lingers, their exchange reveals both the weight of human failure and God’s deeper mercy shown to us in Jesus Christ.
