Faith for the Valley
Feb 11, 2024 • Rev. Steve Albertin
We wish that life were nothing but “mountain top experiences” but life must be lived in the valley.
Peter wanted to preserve his “mountain top experience” but could not. Instead Jesus led him into the future and down into the valley and a life filled with suffering, hurt and death.
This day of the Transfiguration reminds us that we must live life not looking back but forward anticipating the glorious hope of Easter.
Such hope can lead us through life in the valley and all its random senseless suffering assuring us that glory awaits us.
In the meantime we LISTEN for Jesus’ to speak His good word in the life and ministry of the church. When He does speak and we hear, we get to “see” the face of God and Jesus in all His glory.
