I will always love you

Today we hear Jesus calling Peter back to the place of a disciple. Through Peter's struggle we consider how our place behind Jesus and our work of taking up the cross can guide us in turning our gifts outward toward a hurting world in need of Jesus's way of love and forgiveness.


Reflections:

When Peter tries to steer Jesus away from the cross, Jesus does not send him away but calls him back to the place where a disciple belongs: “Get behind me.” Jesus shows us that taking up the cross is not about seeking suffering or accepting mistreatment, but trusting God’s self-giving love enough to follow where Christ leads. As Christ’s people, we are called to turn our gifts outward and discover the life that is found when love is given away.
