- Today we are confronted like Peter with Jesus’s question: "Who do you say that I am?" As we contemplate our own answers, Peter reminds us that God builds the church through ordinary, imperfect people—people like Peter and people like us—held together by the Rock of Ages.
- In today’s Gospel, Jesus declares that the church will be built on the rock of Peter’s bold confession of faith. Entrusted with God’s word of reconciliation and mercy, the church goes forth to offer our spiritual worship through word and deed.
